A typical Fortimo LED Line system consists of:
A number of LED Line modules
The Fortimo LED Line 1R system, with 1 row of LEDs on the module, has been designed with higher lumen output per length than the 3R series, which makes the 1R range a better choice for higher ceilings. The 1 row of LEDs enables a wide variety of optics and beams from batwing light distribution to tight beams. This makes the 1R range a better choice for the illumination of vertical surfaces or areas where high lighting levels are desired. The Fortimo LED Line family offers a choice of isolated (low voltage) or non-isolated (high voltage) systems. With non-isolated LED Line systems a Class I luminaire must be made, whereby there is no possibility of accidentally touching the live parts in the system. A non-isolated system has the advantage of being more efficient, cheaper and the driver has shorter dimensions. An isolated system affords the opportunity to make open-louvred Class II luminaires.
1 Xitanium driver
The linear driver portfolio developed for the Fortimo LED Line family consists of state of the art, advanced programmable Xitanium drivers, offering the flexibility to set your own specification of LED system, due to the adjustable output current feature.
High energy efficiency, up to 92%, is a characteristic of the Xitanium driver family, as well as its ability to cope with multiple LED efficacy module upgrades. For the Fortimo LED Line family there will be a linear range of Xitanium drivers available, all capable of driving different multiples of LED Line modules, rising up to 12. For ultimate flexibility and choice these driver types will be available in fixed output, 1-10V and Touch & DALI versions. Non isolated drivers will have the same linear dimensions as typcial mainstream T5 drivers. Isolated versions will have a slightly larger dimension
Cables for Fortimo LED Lines
There are various cables available for the LED Line systems in three main types; driver to module cables, module to module cables and end cables. The product offering varies depending on whether the system will be isolated or non-isolated, 1R or 3R and how many LED
Line modules are being connected. The driver to module cable contains a resistor that sets the driver current to the appropriate current needed for the number of modules to be connected. For interconnection between the modules specific board-to-board connectors are available in three lengths (4,6cm, 11,5cm and 19cm) depending on the luminaire design. In the case of non-isolated systems each chain of modules needs to be ended with a return end cable (RE) to close the electrical loop.
